Classic Margherita Pizza
Nothing says la vita bella like a perfectly simple margherita pizza—nostalgic, no-fuss, and full of flavor when made with the right ingredients.
Ingredients
-
1 ball of pizza dough
-
1 jar of Ciao Pappy’s Marinara Classico
-
1 ball of fresh mozzarella
-
Fresh basil leaves
-
Extra virgin olive oil
-
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
-
Preheat your pizza oven to a high heat (around 750°F if using a wood-fired oven, or 500°F for a conventional oven with a pizza stone).
-
On a floured surface, stretch your dough into your desired shape and thickness.
-
Spoon a thin layer of Marinara Classico evenly across the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
-
Tear the mozzarella into pieces and scatter them generously over the top.
-
Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake until the crust is golden and blistered and the cheese is bubbling—about 6 minutes in a pizza oven, or 8–10 minutes in a conventional oven.
-
Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil leaves, a pinch of salt, freshly cracked pepper, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
-
Slice and enjoy while hot!
